Trump Shows Neck Rash During White House Event

President Trump’s Neck Rash Attributed to Preventative Skin Treatment

WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump appeared at a White House event on Monday with a noticeable red rash on the right side of his neck, which his doctor said is part of a “preventative” skin treatment.

AFP photographs showed a red patch with several brownish scabs extending above Trump’s shirt collar. The 79-year-old president, the oldest ever elected in US history, was attending a Medal of Honor presentation ceremony when the area was observed.

White House physician Sean Barbabella confirmed in a statement that the president had been using a commonly prescribed cream for preventive skin care. “The president is using this treatment for one week, and the redness is expected to last for a few weeks,” Barbabella said.

The rash follows a weekend in which Trump oversaw US military strikes on Iran, prompting renewed attention to his health. Observers have previously noted bruising on his hands, attributed to aspirin use, swelling in his legs, and occasional dozing off during public events.

Last summer, the White House disclosed that Trump’s leg swelling had been diagnosed as chronic venous insufficiency, a condition where vein valves fail to prevent blood from pooling, causing swelling, cramping, and skin changes.
