Trump Holds Controversial Rally at Madison Square Garden with Fiery Immigration Promises
Trump Leads Fiery Madison Square Garden Rally, Criticizes Harris and Vows Mass Deportations
Event draws supporters with intense rhetoric and appearances from high-profile Trump allies
US-(Special Correspondent): Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump held a high-energy rally at New York’s Madison Square Garden on Sunday, drawing a packed crowd with a focus on anti-immigration pledges and criticism of Democratic candidate Kamala Harris. The event, intended as a strong show of support in Trump’s home state, featured appearances by former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, Trump’s sons Eric and Don Jr., and wrestling icon Hulk Hogan.
Trump emphasized his promise to initiate a large-scale deportation program targeting undocumented immigrants, claiming, “On day one, I will launch the largest deportation program in American history.” He also attacked sanctuary cities and proposed using the Alien Enemies Act to deport migrants with criminal records.
Speakers varied widely, with some controversial statements sparking criticism. Giuliani accused Harris of siding with “terrorists” in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, while comedian Tony Hinchcliffe made remarks about Puerto Rico that drew backlash online. Puerto Rican musician Ricky Martin condemned Hinchcliffe’s comments, urging followers to recognize “what they think of us.”
Meanwhile, Harris continued her campaign, focusing on outreach to Puerto Rican voters in Pennsylvania, a key battleground state. She has positioned herself as a unifying candidate, contrasting her message with Trump’s divisive tone. Harris’s campaign issued a statement denouncing the Madison Square Garden rally for what it called “dangerously divisive and demeaning rhetoric.”
Elon Musk, another notable Trump supporter, also addressed the rally, advocating for a $2 trillion reduction in federal discretionary spending and backing Trump’s proposed policies. Trump hailed Musk’s vision for government reform, suggesting he could lead a commission aimed at streamlining federal operations.
With polls showing a close race in battleground states, both candidates are focusing efforts on securing key voter blocs. Harris, who recently held rallies with Bruce Springsteen and Beyoncé, is scheduled to make a major address in Washington on Tuesday, underscoring the contrast in style and policy between herself and Trump.
As Election Day approaches, both campaigns continue to ramp up their events, signaling an intense final push for votes with just over a week remaining.
