On the completion of 12 years since the Gyari tragedy, the nation paid rich tributes to the martyrs. On April 17, 2012, an avalanche on the Siachen Glacier fell on the NLI battalion headquarters, killing 129 soldiers.

A substantial number of ration packages containing items such as dates, flour, pulses, rice, sugar, tea leaves, powdered milk, cooking oil, and syrup are being distributed.
