On the completion of 12 years since the Gyari tragedy, the nation paid rich tributes to the martyrs. On April 17, 2012, an avalanche on the Siachen Glacier fell on the NLI battalion headquarters, killing 129 soldiers.

The memorial of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the motherland has been established on the high peak of Siachen.
Today the entire nation pays homage to these martyrs of Giari sector, their great sacrifice will always be remembered. Pakistan Army Engineers Corps carried out the rescue operation with gallantry.

A substantial number of ration packages containing items such as dates, flour, pulses, rice, sugar, tea leaves, powdered milk, cooking oil, and syrup are being distributed.
