Tribute to Kashmiri Heroes: Memorial Unveiled on Defense Day

Neelam- Azad Kashmir Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq and General Officer Commanding Major General Muhammad Irfan inaugurated the newly constructed Kashmir Martyrs Memorial in Keran on Defense Day. The memorial, built with the support of Karen World Kashmir Forum, honors the sacrifices of Kashmiri martyrs.

The inauguration ceremony featured a flag hoisting, with PM Chaudhry Anwar Haq and Chairman World Kashmir Forum Haji Rafiq Pardesi unfurling the national flag, while General Officer Commanding Major General Muhammad Irfan, Azad Kashmir Information Minister Maulana Pir Muhammad Mazhar Saeed Shah, and Justice R Anwar Mansoor Khan hoisted the state flag.

A commemorative Martyrs ceremony was organized, featuring a military parade by Pakistan Army soldiers. The Prime Minister laid a wreath on the martyrs’ memorial, and the soldiers saluted.

The event was attended by senior officials, including President Muslim League-N Azad Kashmir Shah Ghulam Qadir, Senior Minister Colonel (Rtd) Waqar Ahmad Noor, government ministers, and Hurriyat leader Yasin Malik’s wife Mashaal Malik.
