Tribute to former AJK president on his 34th death anniversary by current PM AJK

Islamabad: Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq has said paid eulogizing tributes to former AJK president Colonel (retd) Syed Ali Ahmad Shah on his 34th death anniversary.

In his message, prime minister Haq, while highlighting the deceased leader’s unprecedented role in the Kashmir’s freedom movement and Kashmir’s accession to Pakistan movement said that Colonel (retd) Syed Ali Ahmad Shah was among the trusted associates of Chaudhry Ghulam Abbas. “Col. Shah not only played a significant role in the liberation struggle but he was amongst the top rank Kashmiri leaders who presented the resolution of annexation to Pakistan on 19 July 1947 in Srinagar”, the PM said.The PM said that Col. Shah trained a number of Kashmiri freedom fighters who played an important role to free the areas of Mirpur, Dadyal and Bhimbar from Dogra rule.

He said that the former president Colonel (Rtd) Syed Ali Ahmad Shah was a fearless, sincere, courageous and leader with great leadership skills.” Shah’s unparalleled services are appreciated by the government and people of the state of Jammu and Kashmir”, he said, adding that the selfless services he had rendered for the development of the liberated territory and untiring efforts he made to highlight the Kashmir issue would be remembered for a long time in the annals of Kashmir history.

The PM said that the Kashmir liberation struggle has entered a critical stage at this time. “We have to keep in mind the dream of our forefathers and play our role to expose India’s belligerence and brutalities before the world so that the Kashmiri people can achieve their cherished goal of freedom”, he said.
