Toshakhana-II Case: Key Witnesses Admit Undervaluation of Bulgari Jewelry Set
Inamullah Shah, appearing before the court, admitted that he applied pressure on Abbasi to lower the price of the jewelry.
ISLAMABAD: In a significant development in the Toshakhana-II case against former Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi, statements of two key witnesses have surfaced admitting to undervaluing a Bulgari jewelry set gifted by the Saudi Crown Prince.
The witnesses include Imran Khan’s former personal secretary, Inamullah Shah, and Toshakhana’s private appraiser, Sohaib Abbasi. Sohaib Abbasi confessed in his statement that the price of the Bulgari jewelry set was deliberately undervalued. Meanwhile, Inamullah Shah revealed that he pressured Abbasi to reduce the valuation of the jewelry set.
According to Abbasi, Inamullah Shah, acting on Imran Khan’s instructions, pressured him to set the price of the Bulgari set at PKR 5.9 million and threatened to blacklist him from government departments if he failed to comply. Abbasi, who is the CEO of an appraisal firm and a cabinet division-approved appraiser, stated that the valuation task was assigned to him by the Cabinet Division’s section officer on May 25, 2022. He also cooperated fully with the National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) investigation team by providing all relevant documents.
Inamullah Shah, appearing before the court, admitted that he applied pressure on Abbasi to lower the price of the jewelry. Shah served as the comptroller at the Prime Minister’s House and was responsible for the Bani Gala residence. He further disclosed that he was receiving dual salaries from both PTI and the government from 2019 to 2021. He was later dismissed due to the dissatisfaction of Bushra Bibi, who suspected ties between Shah’s brother and Jahangir Tareen.

NAB and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) officials have confirmed that the actual value of the Bulgari jewelry set, which included a necklace, bracelet, earrings, and a ring gifted by the Saudi Crown Prince to Imran Khan during his tenure as Prime Minister, exceeds PKR 75 million. However, Imran Khan reportedly instructed private appraiser Sohaib Abbasi to fix the price at PKR 5.9 million, of which only PKR 2.9 million was deposited into the government treasury.
