Toshakhana 2 Case: Imran Khan’s Lawyer Requests Open Trial
Toshakhana Case Against Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi Adjourned Until February 17

ISLAMABAD: The Toshakhana 2 case involving Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, has been adjourned until February 17 following a jail trial at Adiala Jail on Monday.
During the hearing, statements from eight witnesses were recorded, with seven witnesses undergoing cross-examination. However, the cross-examination of the eighth witness remains incomplete and will continue at the next hearing.
Imran Khan’s lawyer, Faisal Chaudhry, filed a request for an open trial, arguing that the current jail trial lacks transparency. He stated that while lawyers were selectively granted access to the trial, the general public was not allowed to observe the proceedings, calling it a controlled environment by the jail authorities.
Chaudhry requested that the trial be paused until a decision is made on the open trial request. In response, the court issued notices to the concerned parties.

Additionally, the Adiala Jail superintendent responded to a petition by lawyer Mashal Yousafzai, revealing that Yousafzai’s legal license had been suspended by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Bar Council, and an inquiry was underway into how a power of attorney was issued in her name despite the suspension.
The next hearing of the case is scheduled for February 17, where both the trial proceedings and the open trial request will be further discussed.
