Top Officials Join Forces to Tackle Azad Kashmir’s Challenges
Islamabad( Shoaib Mehmmod)_In a crucial inter-ministerial meeting today, key officials from Azad Kashmir and the Pakistani federal government joined hands to address pressing issues hindering the region’s progress. The extraordinary session, jointly chaired by Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq and Federal Defense Minister Gen. (retd) Anwar Haider Ali, saw participation from senior ministers across various departments.
The agenda focused on longstanding concerns impacting the lives of AJK residents. Detailed discussions ensued over the Neelum Jhelum Hydropower Agreement, the Mangala Dam Up-Raising project, rising electricity production costs, and the reconstruction of the Rathoa Hariyam Bridge. A spirit of mutual resolution permeated the room, with all participants vowing to find amicable solutions.
To expedite progress, the committee, helmed by Gen. Haider Ali, decided to form dedicated working groups for each issue. These groups will delve deep into the concerns, formulate solutions as per defined terms of reference, and report back to the central committee.
AJK Prime Minister Haq Kakar expressed gratitude for the federal government’s commitment to resolving AJK’s challenges, describing the meeting as a positive step forward. “This collaborative approach gives us hope that we can finally understand the complexities of these issues and pave the way for sustainable solutions,” he remarked.
