This latest incident follows another disturbing case earlier this year, when Anwarul Haq, a Pakistani-American father, confessed to killing his teenage daughter Hira in Quetta over her TikTok activity. Initially blaming unidentified attackers, Haq later admitted to the crime, reportedly labeling his daughter’s content as “objectionable.” Authorities have since been investigating the case as a possible honor killing.

The rise in violence against women associated with social media activity has sparked renewed concern among rights advocates, who call for stronger protection and accountability.
