TikToker Samiya Hijab says she left Pakistan over public criticism

In a viral video, the influencer accused both the people and the government of driving her out of the country through their judgmental behavior.

ISLAMABAD: TikTok star Samiya Hijab has stirred controversy after claiming that her clothes are getting “shorter day by day” because of the “thinking of the Pakistani nation.”

In a viral video, the influencer accused both the people and the government of driving her out of the country through their judgmental behavior.

In the now-viral short clip, Samiya Hijab expressed frustration with Pakistan’s public mindset, saying it was not her fault if her clothing choices had changed over time.

“It’s the nation’s fault,” she said, adding that the “narrow-minded thinking” of people had made her life difficult in Pakistan.

The TikToker said she felt betrayed by both the government and society, accusing them of having “the same mentality.” She remarked, “The government and the people are mixed — everyone is the same inside.”

Samiya also compared her situation to that of YouTuber Rajab Butt, who left Pakistan months ago and has since been living abroad. “They did the same to Rajab Butt. He also had to run away from the country,” she said emotionally.

According to Samiya, both she and Rajab Butt are constantly “running from one country to another” and living away from their families. She added that she, too, has been forced to stay outside Pakistan due to “mental and social pressure.”

The influencer confirmed that she is currently in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), from where she continues to share photos and videos on Instagram. However, her TikTok account has been made private.

While Samiya confirmed her stay abroad, she did not specify whether it was for travel or a permanent move, as many speculate she may have left Pakistan due to rising online criticism.
