Three killed one injured in car-motorbike crash at Drigh Road

Three people lost their lives in a tragic Karachi underpass crash, highlighting rising traffic accident concerns.

Karachi – (Special Correspondent / Web Desk) – Three people lost their lives and one was injured in a tragic accident at Karachi’s Drigh Road Underpass on Monday, police said.

Officers explained that a speeding car hit a motorcycle near Shahrah-e-Faisal, leaving passersby badly hurt. Rescue teams rushed the victims to Jinnah Hospital through Edhi ambulances.

Edhi confirmed that the dead included two men and an unidentified woman. Another woman was injured and is under treatment.

Police added that the car driver had been arrested and the vehicle seized. Soon after, traffic police closed the underpass for investigation. “Vehicles are being diverted over the flyover,” officials said, asking citizens to call the Traffic Police Helpline (1915) for updates on alternate routes.

Karachi has recently seen a sharp rise in road accidents. Hospital data shows nearly 500 people died and more than 4,800 were injured in crashes during 2024, many involving heavy vehicles like dumpers and water tankers.

Just last week, nine people, including police personnel, were killed in a passenger coach and pickup collision on the Quetta-Karachi highway. Earlier this month, a couple died after being run over by a dumper truck in Sultanabad.
