The New Year 2026 and the People of Khushab — New Pathways of Hope, Resolve, and Development
By: Raja Noor Ilahi Atif
The advent of a new year is not merely a change in the calendar; rather, it carries a message of self-reflection, renewed determination, and fresh hope for individuals, societies, and nations alike. The arrival of the year 2026 also brings such glad tidings for the people of Khushab—tidings that encompass lessons from past experiences, the courage to confront present challenges, and bright prospects for the future.
The land of Khushab is a custodian of history, culture, and hardworking people. It is a region whose inhabitants believe in simplicity, self-respect, and practical struggle. The new year offers the people of Khushab an opportunity to renew their resolve to take their city and district to new heights of progress through collective thinking, mutual cooperation, and positive attitudes.
During the year 2025, Khushab witnessed several social and developmental ups and downs. While there were challenges, rays of hope also emerged. Throughout 2025, Federal Parliamentary Secretary and MNA Engineer Malik Gul Asghar Khan Bughore, MNA Malik Shakir Bashir Awan, MPA Sardar Ali Hussain Khan Baloch, MPA Malik Muhammad Asif Bhutta, former Senator and President PML-N District Khushab Dr. Ghaus Muhammad Khan Niazi, former MPA Barrister Malik Muazzam Sher Kallu, former Adviser to the Chief Minister Punjab Advocate Malik Amjad Raza Gujar, along with other serving and former members of the assemblies, remained actively engaged in public welfare and stood shoulder to shoulder with the people in times of joy and sorrow.
Similarly, the District Administration Khushab, on the whole, took priority-based measures to provide public relief, from which the people of the district benefited substantially. Moreover, owing to the sincere efforts of elected representatives, practical work commenced on several development projects in the tehsils of Khushab, Nurpur Thal, Noorpur, Naushera, and Quaidabad. For this, all concerned public representatives deserve great appreciation. God willing, the sincere efforts of these people-friendly representatives will bear further fruit, and the underdeveloped and remote villages and settlements of District Khushab will gradually move onto the highway of progress.
The new year 2026 demands that we leave despair behind and adopt hope as our guiding provision. Through the promotion of education, guidance of youth, the dignified role of women, and better utilization of local resources, the dream of making Khushab a model district should no longer remain merely a dream but must be transformed into a practical reality.
The youth are the most valuable asset of Khushab. If, in 2026, the younger generation is provided with positive direction, quality education, technical training, and employment opportunities, Khushab can secure a prominent position in the race for development. Alongside this, we must also realize that development is not confined to roads and buildings alone; it also rests upon moral values, social harmony, and the establishment of a just system.
For the people of Khushab, the new year is dawning with the message that collective welfare should be prioritized over personal interests. Setting aside mutual differences, unity, tolerance, and harmony must be promoted. If each one of us lights a lamp of his or her own share, the future of Khushab will surely be bright.
In conclusion, it is prayed that the year 2026 proves to be a year of peace, prosperity, and progress for the people of Khushab. May this year turn hopes into reality, dreams into destinations, and determination into success. May the new year bring new paths, new opportunities, and a better tomorrow for all of us—Ameen.
