Ten Dead in Road Accidents in Shangla and Malakand
The accident occurred near an Afghan refugee camp during heavy rainfall.
MALAKAND: Two separate road accidents in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Shangla and Malakand districts left 10 people dead and three injured on Wednesday.
In Malakand’s Dargai Khattako Shah area, a motorcar plunged into a canal, killing five people, including two children, two women, and a man.
The accident occurred near an Afghan refugee camp during heavy rainfall.
Rescue teams and local volunteers recovered all bodies, which were later shifted to Dargai Hospital. Authorities confirmed that all victims belonged to the same family.
Meanwhile, in Shangla’s Alpuri area, a passenger jeep fell into a deep ravine, killing five members of the same family and injuring three others.

The accident, caused by over-speeding, took place shortly before Iftar as the jeep was traveling from Puran to Mingora.
Rescue teams and locals managed to retrieve the bodies and injured passengers. Four victims died on the spot, while another succumbed to injuries later.
The deceased were identified as Aamir Sohail, Fazal, Faisal, Rehmatullah, and Salman, while the injured — Zafar, Basharat, and Naseeb Zar — were shifted to Saidu Teaching Hospital, Swat.
All victims, aged between 30 and 45, were cousins from Puran Tehsil.
