Technology will be used to curb corruption in prison department: Omer Sarfraz Cheema

Lahore: (Staff Reporter) Special Assistant to Punjab Chief Minister on Information Omer Sarfraz Cheema said technology will be used to curb corruption in prison department. Chairing a session on jail reforms, he directed the prison department to adopt zero-tolerance policy against corruption.
According to the source, he said “The corrupt individuals will be terminated from employment. On the other hand, he said secret and modern means would be employed to conduct surveillance on employees. The system to see imprisoned persons must also be moved online. The quality of food at canteen must be improved.”
As per details Inspector General (IG) Prisons Malik Mubashhir Ahmad Khan, Add. Secretary Prisons Hassan Raza, DG Parole Shireen Naz, Chief Psychologist Sadia Zafar, and other high profile officials attended the session.
