Teachers Face Action Over Marking Errors in Matric and Inter Exams in Punjab

The Education Department stated that strict disciplinary measures will be taken following individual hearings.

LAHORE: The Punjab Higher Education Department has launched disciplinary action against several teachers involved in significant marking errors in Matric and Intermediate examination papers.

According to reports, the names of the concerned teachers have been forwarded to the School Education Department. These teachers were issued show-cause notices on July 9, but many failed to appear before the inquiry committee despite being summoned.

In response, the DPI (Elementary) Punjab has issued fresh notices, directing the teachers to appear today for an inquiry along with a written explanation. Authorities have made it mandatory for all concerned teachers to attend the session.

The Education Department stated that strict disciplinary measures will be taken following individual hearings.

A spokesperson further said that the teachers involved could also face a ban on future participation in the paper marking process.
