Tax collection in July exceeds target by Rs6.4bn
The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) collected Rs754.4 billion in taxes during July 2025, exceeding the set target by Rs6.4 billion, according to official sources.
The tax collection target for the month was Rs748 billion. Sources divulged that the actual collection amounted to 100.9 per cent of the projected figure.
Sales tax remained the highest contributor, with collections totalling Rs352 billion. Income tax receipts stood at Rs323 billion, while customs duties amounted to Rs113 billion. Federal excise duty contributed Rs46 billion during the same period.
Tax refunds worth Rs81 billion were issued during July, according to sources.
Gross revenue collection for the month totalled Rs835 billion.
The FBR has set an annual tax collection target of Rs14,131 billion for the current fiscal year.
