Tarar Exposes KPK Govt’s Failures in White Paper
Minister Info Slams KP Govt's Mismanagement, Pledges Federal Support
ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister Atta Tarar has highlighted the incompetence and financial irregularities of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) government through a comprehensive White Paper. The document sheds light on the province’s poor governance and financial mismanagement over the past 11 years, revealing a total deficit of 725 billion rupees and 152 billion rupees in financial irregularities.
According to the White Paper, the KPK government misused funds allocated for health and education, diverting them instead towards political activities. The report also claims that billions of rupees were wasted on social media propaganda through fictitious companies, exacerbating the financial crisis. The security situation in KPK has also deteriorated, with no significant reforms in the police force or improvements in governance. The government’s decision to place universities under the Chief Minister’s control, rather than the Higher Education Commission, has led to a collapse of the educational system, forcing teachers to protest.
The White Paper highlights the government’s failure to address critical issues such as inflation and unemployment. Despite promises made to the public, neither inflation has been controlled nor public problems addressed. The province has seen questionable payments and irregularities amounting to billions of rupees, pushing KPK’s debt to 75 billion rupees. If the current trends continue, the debt could reach an alarming 2.55 trillion rupees by 2030.
