Takedown 2025: Pakistan’s Biggest Tekken Showdown Returns With a PKR 2.5 Million Prize Pool
Taking place October 24–26, 2025, the championship offers a staggering PKR 2.5 million prize pool.
Lahore: Pakistan has earned its place as the beating heart of global Tekken. From Arslan Ash’s legendary Evo wins to record-breaking tournaments broadcast worldwide, no region has risen faster in esports than this one. This October, that momentum hits a new peak as Baaz Esports announces Takedown 2025, the first official Tekken World Tour Challenger event hosted in Pakistan.
Taking place October 24–26, 2025, the championship offers a staggering PKR 2.5 million prize pool. Registration is open to all players nationwide at a fee of PKR 1,500, making it one of the most inclusive, high-stakes fighting game events in Pakistan’s history. With open registration, competitors have the chance to face off against the very best including world champions like Atif Butt and Arslan Ash, right from the opening rounds.
Within 24 hours of launch, Takedown 2025 crossed 100+ sign-ups, and that number has already surged past 225 players from across the country. Early slots are now closed, but players can still secure their place through regular registration and compete for a shot at the PKR 2.5 million prize pool.
At the center of it all is Danyal Chishty, CEO/Founder of Baaz Esports and a driving force behind Pakistan’s rise in competitive gaming. Since its launch, Baaz has staged some of the most ambitious esports events in South Asia, including Takedown 2023, the most-attended esports event in Pakistan’s history; Pakistan vs South Korea (2025), a landmark showdown streamed in over 120 countries with more than four million views; and The Baaz Gauntlet (2024), a first-of-its-kind invitational that brought together top talent under a global spotlight.
Each of these milestones has been part of Chishty’s mission: to give Pakistan’s players the recognition and platforms they deserve while showing the world that esports here is world-class. “This is about rewriting the story of Pakistan’s place in gaming,” says Chishty. “We’ve proven our players are the best in the world. Now we’re creating events at home that match that level of excellence. Takedown 2025 is the culmination of years of persistence, passion, and belief in this community.”
For Pakistan’s vibrant esports scene, Takedown 2025 is more than a competition. It is a cultural marker, proof that Pakistan has not only produced champions but also has the infrastructure, vision, and talent to host world-class tournaments. The world has already seen Pakistan’s dominance on global stages like EVO and Tekken World Tour. Now, with Baaz Esports at the helm, the spotlight comes home.
The event will take place from October 24–26, 2025.
