T20 World Cup: Pakistan submits preliminary squad to ICC

LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has sent the names of the preliminary squad for the T20 World Cup 2026 to the ICC.
According to sources, the Pakistan Cricket Board has sent the names to the ICC as per the deadline for the preliminary names.
The Pakistan Cricket Board can change the names without the permission of the ICC until January 31, after which it will be necessary to take permission from the ICC Technical Committee for any change in the team.

The names of the reserve players have also been sent along with the initial 15-member squad. The PCB intends to announce the final squad for the World Cup and the series with Australia after the series against Sri Lanka.
The names of Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf have also been included in the preliminary names along with the players for the Sri Lanka tour. The T20 squad for the Sri Lanka tour includes captain Salman Ali Agha, Abdul Samad, Abrar Ahmed, Faheem Ashraf, Fakhar Zaman, Khawaja Muhammad Nafi and Muhammad Nawaz.
Muhammad Salman Mirza, Muhammad Wasim Jr., Naseem Shah, Sahibzada Farhan, Saim Ayub, Shadab Khan, Usman Khan and Usman Tariq are also included in the squad.
