T20 World Cup hero Asif Ali hangs up his pads
An Emotional Farewell: Asif Ali Thanks Fans and Family After Proud Career
Pakistan – (Special Correspondent / Web Desk) – Pakistan’s hard-hitting cricket star, Asif Ali, has decided to retire from playing for his national team. The 33-year-old shared this big news on Monday, calling it his life’s “greatest honor.”
Asif played for Pakistan in 21 one-day games and 58 Twenty20 matches. He was famous for his role as a “finisher,” often scoring quick runs at the end of a game to lead the team to victory.
On social media, he wrote a heartfelt note to his fans. “Putting on the green Pakistan jersey was my biggest dream come true. It was the proudest time of my life,” he said. He also thanked his teammates, coaches, and supporters for their love through all the ups and downs.
His journey with the national team began in 2018. He first played a T20 game against the West Indies after a fantastic season in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), where his powerful hitting helped his club win the title.

Asif also took a moment to thank his family and close friends. He said they supported him during happy times and his deepest sorrows, like the tragic loss of his young daughter during a World Cup. Their strength, he said, helped him keep moving forward.
While he is retiring from international cricket, fans will still see him play. Asif plans to continue his passion for the game by playing in domestic tournaments and cricket leagues around the world. His career also had some fiery moments, like a well-known on-field disagreement with an Afghan bowler during a tense Asia Cup match.
