“T20 World Cup: Bangladesh Declines to Play Matches in India”

Bangladesh’s first match is scheduled against West Indies on February 7 in Kolkata.

LAHORE: The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has decided not to send its team to India for the ICC T20 World Cup following the release of fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman from the IPL, taking a firm stance on the issue.

According to PCB sources, the BCB will inform the government about its decision, and after government consultation, an official announcement will be made. The BCB will also notify the ICC about the matter.

Sources say that Bangladesh will request that its World Cup matches be held in Sri Lanka instead. The ICC T20 World Cup had scheduled Bangladesh’s matches in India, with three games in Kolkata and one in Mumbai.

Squad Announcement:

Bangladesh has named its squad for the ICC T20 World Cup. Liton Kumar Das will lead the team, with Saif Hassan appointed as vice-captain. Bangladesh is in a group with England, West Indies, Nepal, and Italy.

Bangladesh’s first match is scheduled against West Indies on February 7 in Kolkata.
