T20 Tri-Series Begins Today as Trophy Unveiled in Islamabad

Islamabad — The T20 Tri-Series featuring Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Zimbabwe is set to begin today (Tuesday), with all matches scheduled to be played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

After clinching the ODI series against Sri Lanka, the Pakistani squad now faces a fresh challenge in the shorter format. The trophy for the tri-nation tournament was officially unveiled at a private hotel in Islamabad.

Speaking on the occasion, Pakistan’s T20 captain Salman Ali Agha expressed confidence in his squad, stating that the national team had a strong combination and had always received immense support from fans. He added that the team includes exceptional all-rounders and that young players would be given opportunities during the series. “We expect tough competition and will try to perform our best,” he said.

Zimbabwe’s captain Sikandar Raza said his team was fully prepared and consisted of top-quality players. “We are hopeful of winning the series,” he added.

Sri Lankan captain Dasun Shanaka stated that his team had learned from their past mistakes. “We won’t repeat the errors we made in the ODI series,” he assured.
