System Failure at National Bank Leaves Customers Stranded for Five Days
NBP customers are now appealing to the SBP and the Finance Minister to take immediate action
Karachi: National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) customers have been facing severe difficulties for the past five days due to a major system failure that began on Friday, April 11, when the bank initiated a system upgrade. While services were expected to resume by April 14, customers are still unable to access banking facilities.

ATM services across the country have also been down for five days, leaving customers unable to withdraw their own funds. Frustration is mounting as people report disrupted business dealings and personal emergencies due to the unavailability of funds.
“If this had happened in any other country, there would have been a huge uproar against the bank,” said Ahmed Khan, a disgruntled customer.
Another customer shared his distress: “I had to send money from Karachi for a business deal, but couldn’t. The deal got cancelled.”
Khurram Rasheed, another NBP account holder, said, “I urgently needed fifty thousand rupees for my child’s treatment. I’ve been waiting for five days, but the ATM system is still down.”
NBP customers are now appealing to the State Bank of Pakistan and the Finance Minister to take immediate action and restore services without further delay.
