Swat Expressway Accident Today: 18 Killed as Coach Hits Parked Bus

Swat Expressway Accident Today Claims 18 Lives Near Mardan

Swat Expressway – (Web Desk) – A horrific Swat Expressway accident today has shaken the entire region, leaving at least 18 people dead and several others injured near Ismaila in Rustam tehsil, Mardan district.

According to Motorway Police, the tragedy struck near the Saeedabad Khoro Koto Bridge. A passenger bus had stopped on the roadside due to a generator fault. A speeding flying coach coming from behind failed to stop in time and slammed straight into it.

The impact was devastating. Rescue teams rushed to the scene shortly after receiving the emergency call and began shifting the dead and injured to a nearby hospital in Mardan.

Most of the victims are believed to be from Upper Dir and Bajaur districts. Authorities are still working to confirm the identities of all those killed and injured in the crash.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi expressed deep grief over the loss of lives. He offered heartfelt condolences to the grieving families and prayed for the souls of those who lost their lives.

Sadly, this is not an isolated incident. Road accidents happen far too often on Pakistani highways. Speeding, reckless driving, driver fatigue, and poor vehicle maintenance remain the leading causes. Crumbling road conditions only make things worse.

Just earlier this month, five people were killed and ten others injured when a van fell into a ravine in Charbagh tehsil, Swat district.
