Swat Valley and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Attract Thousands of Tourists During Eid Holidays

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa – (Web Desk) – Swat Valley became the most visited place during the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays. Over 262,000 tourists explored scenic areas across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, officials said.

On March 21 and 22 alone, more than 101,420 visitors came, including 27 from other countries. This shows that people from abroad are also interested in the province’s natural beauty.

Swat remained the top choice. More than 58,000 people visited in the first two days of Eid. The flow continued throughout the three-day holiday, bringing total visitors to over 186,000, said Director General Usman Mehsud.

The Galiyat region also attracted many tourists. It saw 30,450 visitors in the first two days and reached 51,886 by the end of Eid.

Other popular spots included Naran and Kaghan, which also received many visitors. Smaller destinations like Kalash Valley and Garam Chashma welcomed 3,509 tourists together. Kumrat Valley saw around 3,400 visitors during the holidays.

In total, 76 foreign tourists were recorded visiting different areas of the province during Eid, reflecting the increasing global appeal of Pakistan’s northern regions.

Authorities maintained strict monitoring of tourist activities, with police and district administrations ensuring safety and order. Tourism Police personnel remained on duty throughout the holidays after their leave was cancelled to facilitate visitors.

Officials said the surge in tourist numbers highlights the growing popularity of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as a travel destination, attributing the trend to improved infrastructure, enhanced security, and better visitor services.
