Surprise Recount Elevates Student to Second Place in 2024 Intermediate Exams
In a surprising turn of events, a student’s ranking in the 2024 intermediate exams has changed following a recount of his marks.
Afaq Khalid, a student from a private college, originally scored 1119 marks in the pre-medical group. After raising concerns, he requested a recount through the Lahore board, which resulted in an additional 30 marks, bringing his total to 1149.
This increase elevated Afaq to the second position in his group. The Lahore board issued him a revised result card reflecting his new ranking. In response, the board has initiated an investigation into the individuals responsible for the marking and counting processes of the exams.
The controller of examinations at the Lahore board, Zahid Mian, stated that the board will officially announce Afaq’s updated position. He also mentioned plans for a celebration to honor Afaq’s achievement. Taking the matter seriously, he promised to implement strict measures against anyone found accountable for the initial errors in mark assessment.
