Supreme Court Issues Revised Judgment in Mubarak Sani Case

On Thursday, the Supreme Court issued a revised judgment in the Mubarak Sani case, addressing an application from the Federation of Pakistan and the Punjab government that sought changes to the original ruling delivered on July 24, 2024.

This correction followed objections raised by religious scholars concerning specific sections of the previous verdict.

The court recognized the application, which pointed out issues with paragraphs 7, 42, and 49 (c) of the July ruling. During the proceedings, representatives from notable scholars, including Mufti Muneebur Rahman and Hafiz Naeemur Rahman, argued their concerns regarding the religious implications of the contested paragraphs.
