Supreme Court Issues Notice Over Qasim Suri’s Property, Seeks Answers from Federation and FIA

Islamabad: The Supreme Court has taken decisive action, issuing notices to the Federation and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) regarding the property of PTI leader Qasim Suri. A four-member bench, led by the Chief Justice of Pakistan, heard an appeal concerning the re-election controversy involving former Deputy Speaker National Assembly Qasim Suri.
During the proceedings, Qasim Suri’s lawyer, Naeem Bukhari, clarified that he had no current contact with his client. The Chief Justice expressed concern over attempts to influence the court through legal injunctions, emphasizing that the court’s authority should not be undermined.
Justice Musrat Hilali questioned Bukhari’s role and urged him to convey the court’s message to Suri, emphasizing the need for compliance. In response, Bukhari reiterated his lack of communication with Suri and expressed inability to deliver any message.

Concluding the hearing, the court ordered the Balochistan government to furnish comprehensive details of Qasim Suri’s assets. The order further directed the federal government and the FIA to explain how Suri departed the country, underscoring the gravity of the situation.
