Supreme Court Bars Imran Khan’s Sisters From Speaking
Supreme Court Hearing Updates: Imran Khan’s Bail Petitions, Legal Delays, and Family Restrictions
Islamabad – (Special Correspondent / Web Desk) – The Supreme Court of Pakistan has adjourned the hearing of jailed PTI founder Imran Khan’s bail petitions until 10:30 am tomorrow after the special prosecutor fell ill. The case is being heard by a three-member bench led by Chief Justice Yahya Afridi.
Imran Khan’s lawyer, Salman Safdar, highlighted repeated delays in the High Court, mentioning 16 hearings and eight prosecutor replacements. He argued that the prosecution’s repeated adjournment requests were unnecessarily prolonging the case.
Safdar requested that the defence be allowed to present its arguments. The Chief Justice responded that the prosecution must be heard first, stating, “The prosecution must explain why the High Court’s ruling should remain valid.”

A plea to allow Imran Khan’s sisters to address the court was also rejected. The Chief Justice clarified, “Only lawyers may present arguments; family members cannot speak before the bench.”
Safdar noted that the Lahore High Court had denied bail last November and that the case had been pending for six months. Chief Justice Afridi assured the court, “No long adjournments will be granted,” confirming the hearing will resume tomorrow.
Earlier, the Supreme Court issued a notice to the Punjab government regarding appeals filed by Imran Khan, directing both sides to assist on legal issues without affecting other ongoing cases.
