Supreme Court Bar Association Holds Annual Elections
Voting begins despite delay in Lahore; intense competition among candidates

Islamabad-(Mudassar Iqbal): Polling is currently underway for the Supreme Court Bar Association’s annual elections. Voting commenced at 8:00 am and is scheduled to continue until 5:00 pm, although it began 15 minutes late in Lahore.
This year, 4,221 eligible voters will participate, with the highest concentration of voters (1,414) in Lahore. Seventeen candidates are competing for five key positions.
The presidential race is between Mian Muhammad Rauf Atta and Munir Ahmed Khan Kakar. For the Secretary role, candidates Salman Mansoor and Malik Zahid Aslam are in contention. The Vice President (Punjab) position has candidates Rana Bakhtiar and Rana Ghulam Sarwar vying for the spot.
The Additional Secretary position is being contested by Muhammad Aurangzeb and Raja Zabeer Hussain, while Aurangzeb Mir and Chaudhry Tanveer are candidates for Finance Secretary.
Interest in the election is high, with close attention from bar members as the competition unfolds.
