Sui Northern Gas Sports Gala 2025 Kicks Off in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: The annual Sui Northern Gas Sports Gala 2025 began with great enthusiasm at the Liaquat Gymnasium, Pakistan Sports Complex, Islamabad. The four-day event was officially inaugurated by Deputy Managing Director Mr. Faisal Iqbal.

During his address, Mr. Iqbal highlighted the importance of sports in promoting teamwork and improving the overall performance of employees. He also praised the active participation of women athletes, calling it a positive step that reflects their growing talent and confidence in the field of sports.

The ceremony was attended by Major General Irfan Arshad, Member of the Pakistan Sports Board, and senior officials from Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL). President of the Sui Northern Sports Cell, Mr. Imtiaz Mehmood, administered the oath to the participating athletes, encouraging them to uphold sportsmanship and fair play throughout the competition.

The Sports Gala, running from November 9 to 12, features contests in badminton, table tennis, tug of war, volleyball, and athletics. This year, 371 male and female athletes from 22 regional teams and the Head Office — including a dedicated women’s team — are taking part in the event.

The opening ceremony was also attended by senior management, CBA Union President Mr. Zubair Khan, Vice President of Sports Cell Mr. Waseem Ahmed, and General Secretary Mr. Imran Safdar Virk, who expressed their support and appreciation for the company’s efforts in promoting a healthy and active lifestyle among employees.
