Sui Northern Gas Mobilizes Emergency Teams Amid Rising Flood Threat

SNGPL has appealed to the public for full cooperation with emergency teams working in the field.

Lahore: In response to the worsening flood situation across the country, Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) has activated special emergency response teams on the instructions of the company’s Managing Director. The move aims to protect vital gas infrastructure and ensure uninterrupted gas supply amid potential high-level flooding.

With flood alerts issued for the Ravi, Sutlej, and Chenab rivers, SNGPL has placed its field staff on round-the-clock alert in several high-risk areas, including Lahore, Narowal, Sialkot, Gujrat, Hafizabad, Bahawalpur, and surrounding regions.

The company has implemented continuous monitoring protocols to assess and respond to any impact of flooding on gas supply systems.

“All necessary precautions are being taken. In areas where flooding poses a direct threat, gas supply may be temporarily suspended as a safety measure,” an SNGPL spokesperson stated. “Such steps will be taken solely to protect lives, property, and the integrity of the network.”

SNGPL has appealed to the public for full cooperation with emergency teams working in the field. The company stressed that timely support from residents is essential for effective implementation of both preventive and corrective actions.
