Strong Pakistani Response After Afghan Taliban Open Fire
Pakistan says it is responding firmly to border firing, rejecting propaganda and warning against any hostile actions from across border.
Attaullah Tarar – (Web Desk) – Attaullah Tarar said on Thursday that Pakistan is delivering a “full and effective response” to what he called unprovoked firing along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, adding that the country will continue to act firmly against any aggression.
Speaking about the ongoing situation at the Pak-Afghan border, the minister accused the Afghan Taliban authorities of spreading false and baseless propaganda. He claimed that statements circulating from Afghan sources, along with certain Indian social media accounts, do not reflect the actual situation on the ground.
Tarar said that misleading rumours are being deliberately spread to create panic and confusion. He added that after facing losses in the clashes, the Afghan side is trying to shift attention through what he described as “lies and propaganda.” He stressed that Pakistan will not allow facts to be distorted or misrepresented.
According to the minister, confirmed reports indicate that 36 operatives linked to the Afghan Taliban were killed in retaliatory action by the Pakistan Army, while several others sustained injuries.
He further confirmed that two soldiers of the Pakistan Army were martyred while defending the country, and three others sustained injuries during the exchange of fire.
Tarar also said that Pakistan had recently conducted successful operations against militants described as Fitna al-Khawarij, who he said had been involved in attacks resulting in the martyrdom of innocent civilians in the region, particularly inside Pakistan.
44 Afghan Taliban Personnel Killed as Pakistan Responds to Cross-Border Fire
The information minister alleged that firing from across the border in defense of these elements had exposed what he termed support for militants by the Afghan Taliban regime. He urged Afghanistan to “learn from past setbacks” and warned that any hostile intentions against Pakistan would be met with a decisive response.
“Those who cast an evil eye on Pakistan will see their malicious intentions destroyed,” he added.
