Strong Earthquake Hits Western Turkey, Buildings Damaged

ISTANBUL – A powerful earthquake struck western Turkey, damaging several buildings, but there are no immediate reports of casualties.

According to reports, the earthquake measured 6.1 in magnitude, with its epicenter in the town of Sundargi in Balıkesir province. The depth of the quake was recorded at 6 kilometers.

The tremors were felt in multiple cities, including Istanbul, Bursa, Manisa, and Izmir. In Sundargi, several buildings were damaged, and the quake caused widespread panic, prompting residents to rush out of their homes in fear.

It is worth noting that in August, the same area experienced a 6.1 magnitude earthquake, which resulted in one death and dozens of injuries.
