Starlink Services Expected to Launch in Pakistan by June 2025
PTA Chairman Criticizes Lack of Telecom Investment by Government

ISLAMABAD: Starlink services are expected to be available in Pakistan by June this year, according to the Parliamentary Secretary for IT. Sabin Ghori, the parliamentary secretary for the Ministry of IT and Telecom, informed the parliamentary committee that Starlink had applied for a license three years ago, and the services will be launched in Pakistan in June 2025.
The Chairman of the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) criticized the government for not investing in the telecom sector for several years, despite the fact that PTA has generated Rs. 1.7 trillion in revenue for the government over the past six years. He highlighted that, in contrast, India has invested $13 billion in telecom sector connectivity, while the Pakistani government has not made any such investment.
