Ramadan Sees Surge in Terror Attacks Across KP

Peshawar: (Web Desk) – A sharp increase in terrorist incidents has been recorded across multiple districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the first week of Ramadan, resulting in the martyrdom of more than 20 personnel belonging to police, Frontier Constabulary (FC), and security forces.

According to official data, the southern districts of the province remained the primary targets, where at least 13 police personnel were martyred and 10 others injured in a series of coordinated and suicide attacks.

In Kohat, a deadly terrorist attack claimed the lives of seven police personnel, while four others sustained injuries. Another major incident occurred at the Dajal police check post in Bhakkar, adjacent to Dera Ismail Khan, where a suicide bomber detonated explosives, martyring four police officials and injuring four more.

In Bannu, a suicide attack targeted a security forces convoy, resulting in the martyrdom of four military personnel, including a lieutenant colonel. Additionally, eight personnel were injured in a separate attack on an FC line in the same district.

Militants also targeted an ambulance in the Bahadur Khel area of Karak, where three FC personnel were martyred. In another incident, five personnel were injured during an attack on an FC fort in Karak.

Further incidents were reported from Dera Ismail Khan, where one police official was martyred and two injured, while another policeman lost his life in Wana.

Police officials said that counterterrorism and intelligence-based operations have been intensified across sensitive districts in response to the surge in violence during Ramadan. Authorities also confirmed the arrest of a female suicide bomber in Dera Ismail Khan, terming it a major breakthrough.

Security agencies reiterated their resolve to eliminate militant networks and ensure the safety of citizens despite continued threats.
