Special Central Judge Orders Release of Bushra Bibi in Tosha Khana 2 Case
Islamabad Court Orders Release of Former Prime Minister’s Wife

Islamabad(Mudassar Iqbal)- A Special Central Judge in Islamabad has ordered the release of Bushra Bibi, wife of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, in connection with the Tosha Khana 2 case. The ruling follows a bail application submitted to Judge Shahrukh Arjumand’s court.
The case centers around allegations of misappropriation of gifts received by Imran Khan during his time as Prime Minister. The Islamabad High Court granted bail to Bushra Bibi, drawing comparisons to the legal precedent established in the Justice Qazi Faez Isa case.
During the hearing, Justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb highlighted similarities between the two cases, noting that a husband had been held accountable for his wife’s actions in the Isa case. The High Court approved Bushra Bibi’s bail, setting a surety bond of one million rupees.
Justice Aurangzeb questioned the logic of implicating Imran Khan in the case, particularly if Bushra Bibi did not declare the gifts in question. He drew a parallel to the Justice Isa case, where a husband faced scrutiny for his wife’s financial matters.
FIA prosecutor Umeer Majeed argued that state officials are required to declare and surrender gifts unless legally purchased. He emphasized that such gifts remain state property. Justice Aurangzeb also referenced global practices, noting that gifts presented to world leaders often follow specific regulations for retention or submission.
The court underscored the necessity of accurate valuation, suggesting that proper auctions should be conducted to assess the worth of such items. Justice Aurangzeb even mentioned his observations in an Azerbaijani museum, where gifts to past leaders were displayed with their portraits.
The granting of bail offers temporary relief to Bushra Bibi, though the broader case continues to unfold.
