South African Air Chief Receives Guard of Honour in Pakistan

RAWALPINDI: South Africa’s Chief of the Air Staff, Lieutenant General Wiseman Simo Mbambo, met with Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Sahir Shamshad Mirza at the Joint Staff Headquarters in Rawalpindi, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.

According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the high-level meeting focused on strengthening military-to-military cooperation and enhancing bilateral defence ties between South Africa and Pakistan.

Both sides held comprehensive discussions on a wide range of areas of mutual interest, including regional and global security issues, capacity building, and future prospects for defence collaboration. The two dignitaries explored practical measures to further broaden the level and scope of engagement between the armed forces of the two nations.

General Sahir Shamshad Mirza also shared Pakistan’s perspective on the evolving regional security dynamics and reaffirmed the country’s commitment to promoting peace and stability in the region. He highlighted the role and sacrifices of the Pakistan Armed Forces in the fight against terrorism and in maintaining regional peace.

Lieutenant General Mbambo lauded the professionalism and operational readiness of the Pakistan Armed Forces. He also acknowledged Pakistan’s efforts and sacrifices in counterterrorism operations, appreciating the military’s commitment to regional and global security.

Upon his arrival at the Joint Staff Headquarters, the South African Chief of Air Staff was presented with a Guard of Honour by a smartly turned-out tri-services contingent, marking the beginning of his official engagements in Pakistan.
