Some flights resume Karachi airport slowly returns operations

Limited flights return at Jinnah International Airport in Karachi as many Gulf routes remain closed.

Karachi – (Web Desk) – Flight services of Emirates, Flydubai, and Air Arabia started again in a limited way at Jinnah International Airport in Karachi on Friday. Airport officials said only some flights are operating for now while the situation slowly improves.

Sources at the airport said that around 814 flights from Pakistan to different Gulf countries were cancelled over the past seven days. The sudden disruption affected thousands of passengers who were waiting to travel.

Flights to Qatar and Kuwait are still not operating. In total, 106 flights from Pakistan to the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Qatar had to be cancelled.

At Karachi airport alone, 26 scheduled flights to Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha, Sharjah, Kuwait, and Bahrain did not depart.

Another 18 flights that were expected to leave for Doha, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Sharjah from Islamabad and some other airports were also cancelled.

22 flights from Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore, were cancelled. These flights were scheduled to land in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait, and Bahrain.

6 flights from Multan International Airport were cancelled. These flights were scheduled to take off for Dubai, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah, Bahrain, Doha, and Kuwait.

4 flights from Sialkot International Airport were cancelled. These flights were scheduled to land at Dubai International Airport.

The airspace for flights for the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Iran is closed from February 28, 2026.
