Somalia, Pakistan Sign SNIDS Addendum-2 to Strengthen Digital Identity Systems

Mogadishu – In a significant step towards Somalia’s digital transformation, the National Identification and Registration Authority (NIRA) and the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) of Pakistan signed Addendum-2 under the main agreement of the Somali National Identification System (SNIDS).

The signing ceremony took place in Mogadishu and was attended by high-ranking officials, including H.E. Abdihakim Hassan Ashkir, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Interior, Federal Affairs, and Reconciliation (MOIFAR).

The agreement was signed by the Director General of NIRA and the Chief Projects Officer (CPO) of NADRA. The signing of this addendum marks a pivotal step in strengthening Somalia’s identity management and governance systems. It is also in line with the country’s broader digital transformation objectives.
