Solangi Assures Robust Security Measures for Upcoming Elections

SIFC: Pakistan’s Key Initiative to Boost Investor Confidence and Economic Growth.

Islamabad: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Murtaza Solangi, has reassured that comprehensive arrangements have been made regarding security measures for the upcoming elections.

Addressing a press conference in Islamabad Murtaza Solangi stated that Pakistan is actively taking action against terrorists, with security forces fully prepared for the elections. He emphasized that excellent security arrangements have been made for the general elections, dividing security responsibilities into three tiers: police, Rangers, and FC Security.

He revealed that over 120 million citizens across the country are eligible to vote, with more than 69 million registered male voters and over 59 million registered female voters.

Reflecting on the security situation during the 2008 and 2013 elections, Murtaza Solangi acknowledged the challenges posed by terrorism, particularly after the Taliban took control of Kabul. However, he expressed confidence that the elections would be peaceful despite the use of safe havens by Al-Qaeda and TTP in Afghanistan.

Regarding security measures at polling stations, he affirmed that thorough security arrangements have been implemented. He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to democracy, emphasizing the freedom of expression and the right to criticize while highlighting that the government cannot interfere with judicial decisions.

Murtaza Solangi also mentioned the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), which aims to attract investors, and the government’s significant economic initiatives to improve the economy. He underscored the economic agreements made under the SIFC to facilitate investment opportunities.
