Social Media Update Exposes Alleged Anti-Pakistan Propaganda Network

It has also been claimed that certain political narratives circulating online were being run from foreign countries

Islamabad — A recent update by social media platform X has reportedly exposed several accounts allegedly involved in spreading anti-Pakistan propaganda, false narratives on human rights, and divisive content.

According to reports, the update has unmasked multiple foreign-operated accounts that had been portraying themselves as local activists or human rights defenders.

The exposed network allegedly includes accounts linked to groups operating from Afghanistan, India, and the Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM), which officials claim have been promoting narratives aligned with foreign agendas. Authorities state that Indian accounts spreading hate, misinformation, and narratives aimed at creating internal discord in Pakistan have also been traced.

Reports further suggest that a significant number of accounts promoting terrorism-linked narratives were being operated from India and other countries, with heavy use of VPNs to mask their actual locations. Accounts associated with groups referred to as “Khawarij elements” and “Hindustan-backed networks” were also found to be operating from abroad.

According to the findings, several accounts that had been raising allegations of human rights violations in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were discovered to be foreign-based, with purported links to India. Officials say the discovery has revealed the international scale of propaganda factories working against Pakistan.

It has also been claimed that certain political narratives circulating online were being run from foreign countries, highlighting the broader challenge of externally driven digital manipulation.

Authorities state that the latest revelations expose the network behind coordinated online disinformation campaigns and reaffirm concerns about foreign involvement in digital operations aimed at destabilizing Pakistan.
