SNGPL Cracks Down on Gas Pilferage: Significant Raids and Imposed Fines. In an intensified effort to combat gas pilferage, Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) conducted extensive raids across Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Islamabad, resulting in the disconnection of 174 illegal connections. Additionally, the company processed 329 under billing cases, imposing a hefty fine of Rs 6 million.

In Lahore, the regional team took stringent action by disconnecting 19 connections engaged in illegal gas use, 9 for compressor usage, and processed 14 under billing cases. A substantial fine of Rs 1 million was imposed against gas theft and under billing, and the team filed one FIR in a gas theft case.

The Rawalpindi regional team disconnected 4 connections involved in the unauthorized use of gas. In Multan, 3 connections were severed for illegal gas use, 2 for compressor usage, and 95 under billing cases were processed, resulting in a fine of Rs 0.222 million against gas pilferage.

The Sheikhupura team disconnected 21 connections for illegal gas use, 1 for compressor usage, and processed 23 under billing cases, imposing a fine of Rs 2.53 million. In Sargodha, 1 connection was disconnected for illegal use.

Moving to Peshawar and Karak, SNGPL disconnected 40 connections due to the direct use of gas and illegal gas use, imposing a fine of Rs 1.1751 million against gas theft cases and filing an FIR. In Mardan, the team booked 60 under billing cases, imposing a fine of Rs 0.10 million against gas pilferage.

The Bahawalpur team processed 49 under billing cases, with a fine of Rs 0.01 million. Sahiwal witnessed the disconnection of two connections for illegal gas use. In Faisalabad, one connection was severed for illegal gas use, two for compressor usage, and 9 under billing cases were processed, resulting in a fine of Rs 0.03 million against gas theft and under billing cases.

Gujranwala experienced the disconnection of 8 connections for illegal gas use, with 79 under billing cases processed. The team imposed a fine of Rs 0.77 million against gas theft and under billing cases, along with lodging an FIR against gas theft. In Gujarat, 61 connections were disconnected for illegal gas use, with Rs 0.20 million booked against gas theft cases. In Sialkot, an amount of Rs 0.01 million was booked against gas theft cases.

SNGPL’s proactive measures underscore its commitment to curbing gas pilferage and ensuring the fair and legal use of gas resources.
