Small Plane Crashes in Kenya, 12 Feared Dead
All five crew members from these two accidents were safely evacuated, according to the Navy's Pacific Fleet.
ISLAMABAD: A small plane has crashed in Kenya, leaving 12 people feared dead. The aircraft had taken off from the coastal resort town of Diani and was heading to the private airstrip at Kichwa Tembo in Masai Mara National Park when the accident occurred around 5:30 am local time.
The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority confirmed that all 12 passengers were on board and said an investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the crash. Government teams have reached the site to assist with recovery and investigation efforts.
This is not the first recent aviation tragedy in Kenya. In August of last year, a light plane operated by the medical organization Amref crashed near Nairobi, killing six people and injuring two others.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident yesterday, a US Navy helicopter and fighter jet crashed in the South China Sea within half an hour of each other. All five crew members from these two accidents were safely evacuated, according to the Navy’s Pacific Fleet.
The latest plane crash in Kenya has raised concerns about aviation safety and prompted authorities to review ongoing safety measures for small aircraft.
