Skill training workshop by ORIC University of Gujrat,

Gujarat (Our Correspondent)_On a roadmap to promote research capacity and introducing modern trends and techniques, the Office for Research, Innovation & Commercialization (ORIC) organized a two-day workshop here at the University of Gujrat (UoG) the other day.

Researchers and senior faculty from different departments attended the workshop, titled Systematic Review, to enhance their research skills and capabilities. The inaugural session was presided over by Dean, Faculty of Science Prof. Dr Muhammad Mushahid Anwar. The resource person of the training workshop Mr. Usman Arshad from Pakistan Institute of Living and Learning (PILL), Lahore followed a participatory approach and engaged the participants in various interactive sessions in two-day training.

Prof Dr Audil Rashid, the Director ORIC and chief organizer of the workshop highlighted the significance of systematic review as an integral part of quality research and writing grant wining proposal. He stressed the need of engaging young PhD faculty of UoG to enhance their research supervising skills and transform their research ideas into funding projects by using systematic review as a research tool.

The concluding session was chaired by Prof. Dr Zahid Yousuf, Dean Faculty of Arts who appreciated the workshop topic and pointed out that quality research can have profound impact on positive development of society. The participants received certificates at the end of the workshop. The faculty member Mr. Jawad Asif, representing the participants, expressed that the workshop was tremendously inspiring and useful in bringing quality and innovation towards research.
