Six Soldiers, Including Lt Col, Martyred in North Waziristan Operation
RAWALPINDI: Six soldiers, including a lieutenant colonel, were martyred during a fierce gun battle with terrorists in North Waziristan’s Spinwam area, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Saturday.
The military’s media wing reported that the clash occurred during the night of October 4-5, resulting in the deaths of six militants, referred to as “khwarij.”
“Lt Col Muhammad Ali Shaukat was leading the operation when he, along with five other soldiers, was martyred amid heavy exchange of fire,” the ISPR said.
The fallen soldiers were identified as Lance Naik Muhammad Ullah, Lance Naik Yusaf Ali, Lance Naik Shahid Ullah, Lance Naik Akhtar Zaman, and Sepoy Jameel Ahmed.
The ISPR emphasized the military’s unwavering resolve to eliminate terrorism, stating, “The sacrifices of our brave soldiers only reinforce our commitment to eradicating this threat.”
