Sindh Confirms August 20 Holiday to Honor Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai’s Urs
Public Holiday on August 20 Confirmed by Provincial Government Notification

The Government of Sindh has announced a public holiday on August 20 to honor the annual Urs of the esteemed Sufi poet, Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai. The provincial government released an official notification on Friday, confirming the holiday throughout the province.
The three-day Urs celebrations, held annually at the final resting place of the Sufi saint in Bhit Shah, will begin on 14 Safar according to the Islamic calendar.
Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai’s Urs is both a major spiritual event and a cultural festival, attracting large numbers of visitors to Bhit Shah.

The festivities usually feature recitations of the poet’s verses, Sufi music, and various cultural performances, all of which highlight Sindh’s rich heritage.
