Sindh CM demand Inclusion in Top Civil Service Promotion Board
CM Sindh highlighted the current lack of provincial input in the selection process for the highest-ranking civil service positions.
Karachi: Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has formally requested Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to include provincial Chief Ministers in the High Power Selection Board responsible for promotions to the highest civil service grades from 21 to 22.
In a letter citing Article 240 of the Constitution, Shah emphasized the critical role of civil services in both federal and provincial governance. He highlighted the current lack of provincial input in the selection process for the highest-ranking civil service positions.
Shah argued that the perspectives of provincial governments should be considered during the promotion of civil servants to grade 22. He proposed the reconstitution of the High Power Selection Board to include Chief Ministers and Provincial Chief Secretaries, ensuring a more balanced and inclusive decision-making process.
