SIC, PTI Protest for Release of Imprisoned leadership, workers

Islamabad: Members of the Sunni Ittehad Council and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) parliamentarians staged a protest march on foot from Parliament to the Supreme Court on Monday, demanding the release of their party leadership and workers.

Led by prominent figures including Barrister Gohar, Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser, Ali Muhammad Khan, Riyaz Fatiana, and Atif Khan, the demonstrators raised slogans and called for immediate freedom for imprisoned PTI founder Imran Khan and other party members.
Addressing the gathering, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar emphasized the significance of Imran Khan’s leadership, highlighting his widespread popularity among Pakistan’s voters. He urged the judiciary to swiftly address the plight of incarcerated PTI members, including women, stressing the need for their immediate release.

Former Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser expressed concern over the delay in forming a new bench to address issues related to military courts, questioning the accessibility of justice for innocent individuals currently in detention. He appealed to the Chief Justice to expedite the formation of a bench to ensure justice for those unjustly imprisoned.
The protest underscored growing calls for judicial intervention to address grievances related to political imprisonment and justice reforms in Pakistan.
