Sialkot Premier League 2026 grand finale celebrates youth, sportsmanship
SIALKOT: (Web Desk) – The grand finale of the Sialkot Premier League (SPL) 2026 at the Sajjad Memorial Sports Complex, Kobe Chak was a celebration of youth, sportsmanship, and community engagement. Former Federal Minister Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan, attending as the chief guest, praised the event for drawing large crowds of young people, highlighting the role of sports in promoting discipline, teamwork, and positive activities.
Dr. Awan shared that the stadium is named in memory of his late younger brother, Malik Sajjad Hussain Awan, a renowned cricketer of his time, and emphasized that the complex was established to keep his spirit alive while providing modern sports facilities for local youth. He also noted that the complex is strategically located alongside Sharifan Bibi Memorial Hospital, reflecting a vision of combining sports, health, and social service in one community hub.
Rising Star CC moved into Final of S.M.Adil Zone-IV Inter Club Cricket Tournament.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Awan reiterated the importance of organizing sports events to channel youth energy into constructive pursuits. He congratulated the organizers of the SPL for a successful tournament, noting that such events offer local players an opportunity to showcase their talent and pursue professional growth in sports.
The ceremony concluded with trophies and prizes awarded to the winning team, runners-up, and players recognized for outstanding performance. Cricket fans and participants expressed satisfaction with the event and expressed hope that the Sialkot Premier League would expand further in future years, with the Sajjad Memorial Sports Complex continuing as a central hub for sports activities in the region.
